Agency, action and engagement
At the Arab International Academy Early Years, we introduce children to their surrounding community in simple and meaningful ways that are close to their world, nurturing empathy, care for others, and a sense of belonging from an early age.
Children participate in small, purposeful community activities connected to their daily experiences and learning units, such as caring for the environment, taking part in simple collective initiatives, or expressing care for others through cooperative activities. These experiences are designed to be age-appropriate and focus on participation, interaction, and working together.
Through community engagement experiences, children learn that they are part of a wider community, that their small actions can make a difference, and that learning extends beyond the classroom to include relationships, values, and care for others and the environment around them.
