Primary School

At the Arab International Academy – Lusail, the Primary School implements the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate. The Primary School serves students from three years of age in Pre- K through eleven years of age in Grade 5. Inquiry lies at the heart of teaching and learning, as students engage in interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect academic concepts to the world around them.
This approach fosters collaboration and constructive dialogue, encourages respect for diverse perspectives, and strengthens empathy and cultural awareness. Alongside academic growth, students develop critical thinking skills, adaptability, and independence, preparing them to become thoughtful and reflective learners.
The programme includes six main subject areas: Arabic and English language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, the Arts, and Personal, Social and Physical Education.
Units of inquiry and all subject areas are taught in both Arabic and English, ensuring a balanced bilingual education that supports fluency in both languages. Beginning in Grade 3, students also study French or Spanish as a third language.
