AIA - Lusail Students Organize 2nd Model United Nations (MUN)
AIA - Lusail students organized the second Model United Nations (MUN) conference under the theme “Reform Paves the Way for Progress; True Progress Only Comes When We Acknowledge Our Failures.” The conference witnessed the participation of a large number of academy students, as well as students from other schools across Qatar. Its aim was to provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their leadership, planning, creativity, and critical-thinking skills—competencies that Arab International Academy seeks to cultivate in order to empower students to take ownership of their learning and actively engage in selecting the issues discussed during the conference.
Engaging students in regional and global issues broadens their perspectives and encourages them to seek solutions to the challenges facing our world. This was achieved through simulations that allowed participants to experience the realities of countries facing economic, social, security, and other pressing challenges. The conference also offered students the opportunity to simulate diplomatic life, including drafting international resolutions and understanding the mechanisms for debate, passage, and voting.
