The Student Voice
In the Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that students play an active and meaningful role in shaping their school environment and participating in decisions that affect their daily school life. Students take part in the Student Council, which represents their peers’ voices and leads school initiatives. They are also given multiple opportunities to share their learning and thinking through the Primary Years Programme Exhibition and end-of-unit celebrations.
The programme supports student-led conferences, including three-way conferences, where students present their learning and reflect on their academic progress. These experiences strengthen independence and build confidence as students develop their ability to express themselves and take ownership of their learning. The morning assembly also serves as a daily platform for students to share ideas, celebrate achievements, and contribute to building a strong sense of school community.
Through these practices, we foster a school culture that values student voice, provides meaningful opportunities for participation, and supports students’ growth as aware, responsible learners within the school community.
