Learning Without Walls
In a vibrant and engaging learning environment, AIA - Lusail implemented Learning Without Walls activities for middle school students. Outdoor spaces and specialized workshops were transformed into true extensions of the classroom, creating experiences designed to foster active learning and develop 21st-century skills.
The activities included educational field trips, most notably a visit to Al Khor Park. Seventh and eighth-grade students participated in tree planting activities in collaboration with the municipality and park management. This hands-on experience enhanced environmental awareness and fostered a sense of responsibility toward nature. Students also explored the Panda House, where they learned about pandas’ characteristics, habitat, and way of life, deepening their understanding of biodiversity and the importance of its conservation.
Sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students also took part in a trip to the mangrove forests, which included kayaking activities that emphasized teamwork and collaboration while connecting learning with direct experience in a unique natural environment. On the training and creative front, a design workshop was organized for sixth-grade students, while workshops on artificial intelligence were conducted for ninth and tenth-grade students, aiming to develop innovative and digital thinking. Additional activities included street art and graffiti workshops and mural projects for tenth-grade students, a visit to Hina Salma Farm featuring a perfume- and candle-making workshop, and an art workshop that allowed students to express their ideas through diverse artistic methods.
This initiative underscores the school’s commitment to providing a holistic education that balances knowledge, experience, and creativity, placing students at the center of the learning process.
